SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS.
TENT MISSION CONCLUDED. A powerful address 'entitled the “Coming of Elijah the Prophet’’ closed the mission at the Tent last evening. Speaking of the mission, Mr Anderson said it had been a success in every sense of the word. The object was to bring men and women to Christ, and they could rejoice with many who had received a personal knowledge of their Saviour through their humble efforts, and incidentally quite a substantial increase to the church membership would result from these meetings. Before commencing his’ address, Evangelist Anderson expressed appreciation on behalf of himself and his corps of workers of the keen interest evinced in the messages ilelivored from night to night. The augmented orchestra also received commendation. Despite the increased accommodation, 1 provided it was only with considerable difficulty that the audience was ultimately seated. It was a crowded tent that listened to “the greatest message of all history ’ ’ to use the speaker’s words. Briefly Tracing the history of the church during the Christian era Mr Anderson showed the fulfilment of Paul’s prediction that before fhe coming of Christ the church was to fall away from the high principles left it by* the great Teacher. The “falling away” would give rise to the great apostasy which was to culminate in the greatest persecuting power of history. Millions of martyrs attested the accuracy of that prophecy, and John writing more fully concerning it in the 13th chapter of Revelation showed its extent whom all the world would “wonder after the Beast. ’' The Beast was but a prophetic symbol indicating the character of that persecuting power. To-day a message was going to all the world revealing the Saviour of mankind and denouqeing every form of apostasy. Elijah of old was - called to witness for God in the midst of opposition when Israel had become engrossed in sun worship of worst kind. It meant much for Elijah to witness for God in the midst, of apostasy, but he did it, and God rewarded his efforts. To-day a message in the “Spirit and Power of Elijah.” was due this world. That message was going with tremendous rapidity, accomplishing its work calling men to the worship of the God who created them. Like Elijah it denounced every form of apostasy whever it was found, and finally prepared people for translation. At the conclusion ot the meeting a Bible-class was formed where special instruction will be given previous to baptism. This class will meet every Sunday night in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Nelson street, at 7 o’clock. A hearty invitation was extended to all interested to attend these instructional meetings for the next few weeks. The baptism will be held nt no distant date. “God bo with you till we meet again,” was sung to conclude the meeting.
