SATURDAY MARKET REPORTS, Messrs. Beard, Bullen and Co. report having bad a good yarding of pigs, dairy stock and poultry at their market sale on Saturday. Prices all round were exceptionally good, dairy cows bringing up to JJL, weanor pigs W/- and pullets 19/- per pair. They also disposed ol a large quantity of sundries at satisfactory prices, including shop counter for £2, set harness £0 10/-, set Potts irons 7/6, also pony for £2 10/-. Messrs, Gill Bros, report on business done at the Central Mart on Saturday as follows: —Poultry was in keen demand and weaner pigs showed a marked improvement on recent prices. Following were the prices realised: — Poultry: Table birds made up to 6/4, others 3/- to 5/8, cockerels 2/6 to 6/-, W.L. pullets 16/-, 8.0. pullets 12/-, canary 6/6. Pigs: Prime weanera to 25/-, others 16/- to 24/6, light porkers to 36/-. Pony, trap and harness £lB, do. £2l. General; Window and frame 50/-, do, 40/-, wheelbarrow 29/6, Orion range 60/-, gig £7, lawn mower 40/-, dessert apples 2/9 to 5/6, quinces 3/-, pears 3/6, tomatoes 3/-, cape gooseberries 5/-, lemons 1/3 doz., potatoes 2/6 to 3/- tin, 16/- sack, pig do. 3/-, water melons 3/- to 6/-, citron do. to 12/-, pumpkins 2/- to 6/-, marrows 3/-, Celery 6/-, carrots 2/-, onions 4/6 tin. They also sold a quantity of tools, timber, iron, horse and cow covers, and general sundries at recent market rates. The firm also report a clearing sale on account Mr. F. D. Hodges, Maraekakaho road on Friday. A separator brought £6, set discs £6 10/-, harrows £3 2/G, d.f. plough £lO 10/- h. mower £l4, cultivator £3 2/6, d. gelding £lO, roan mare £l9 10/-, low dray £l5, Jersey cow £4, calf 30/-, pony £4, also a quantity harness, wire, fools, barrels and sundries at satisfactory prices. Messrs. T. Cunningham and Co. report having offered a moderate entry of pigs and a good penning of poultry at their market sale on Saturday last and quote:—Heavy table fowls up to 5/-„ good to 4/6, small and light sorts 2/8 to 3/10, ducks 4/4 to 6/4. Pigs in good demand. Slips to 24/6, porkers light 32/6 to 36/-. No dairy stock was offered.
