ADELAIDE DISASTER.

ANOTHER FIREMAN DEAD. FOUR KILLED AND THIRTEEN IN JURED. Adelaide, April 28. The steamer City of Singapore is still burning and is likely to do so for several days. Another fireman has succumbed to hig injuries. When the explosion oc curred a fireman named Greenman wa> killed outright. Th© other two Hickey and Anderson, were engulfed in th© wreckage. Later the remains of on© of them were found, but as the\ consisted only of a skull and a few charred bones his ideptity has not beer established. The names of the other firemen who died from injuries have not so far been ascertained. The latest accounts give four killed or missing and 13 injured. Th© names of the latter are Chas. McKay. John Walsh. Patrick Ryan, Martin Moore, F. Cornish. Lawrence Anthony. HennSayers Jack Key, William Ryaii. George Stuart. Easton Maraud Oayong. Thomas Booth William Bentwell. The fore© of the explosion is shown by a piece of iron hurled 70 yards and a man on the opposite aid© of the river was struck by a piece of flying steel and slightly injured. The disaster was one of th© worst experienced on the Australian water front and has paralysed th© fire fighting force. The crew of th© vessel comErised 17 Europeans. 13 Malays and 37 ascars. When the fire was discovered the master ordered all th© native crew out and told the fifth engineer to open the valves, flood th© hold and cut off all steam. Th© explosion which wrecked the ship is believed to have been caused by coal gas. FIRE PRACTICALLY EXTINGUISHED.

(Received 29, 12.10 p.m.) Adelaide, April 29. The fire on the City of Singapore has been practically extinguished. The damage is estimated at over £250,000. The opinion is expressed that the vessel will never leave Adelaide, as it would cost as much to repair her as to build a new ship.
