AUTUMN SHOW.
FAVOURABLE PROSPECTS Judging by present appearances the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s autumn show next week promises to be a big success. Not only are the show entries very large and the quality likely to be exceptionally good, but the competition entries, as will be seen from the lists recently published by us are very large indeed. The niainden hunters’ class has an entry of nearly thirty, the dog trial, too, has attracted a splendid entry, and this event bids fair to be quite one of the features of the first day’s proceedings. The class for grade Jersey heifers, the progeny of a purebred bull, has drawn an entry of 33. proof that dairymen are improving their herds. The poultry entry is a very large one, and in this connection it should be noted that it has been decided to accept post entries for tiie gift class. On the whole it may well be anticipated that the show will bo fully up to the high standard of those which have preceded it. and that the attendance will be very large.
