TARADALE FLOWER SHOW.

A CREDITABLE DISPLAY. Beautiful blooms were exhibited at the Taradale Flower Show yesterday afternoon in th e Presbyterian Hall. Dr. Swanseger opened the show and spoke of the glorious display of blooms as a proof of the wonderfully productive character of the district, and the elevating power of such exhibitions of stimulate the mind in the culture of the beautiful. Mr. Ix?n Robottom had 120 varieties of gladiola on view, a very fine exhibition. Mrs. Q Anderson exhibited wreaths, bouquets, posies, and baskets, all of which were very favourably commented on. The points prize was gained by Mrs. AV. Kinross White, and Mrs. R. J. Campbell secured the champion rose award. Mesdamcs Appleby and Balharry judged the decorative class. Miss King the cooking, Messrs. Merritt and Daily the fruit, vegetables and cut flowers. In the evening the unclaimed exhibits were sold. The following are the awards:— MW»L'O, 4 uistiuvc.—xurs. K. j.
