Mr. Harry Batterbee and Mr- John Edgcumbe join Vice-Admiral Field’s staff for the Empire cruise, the former as political secretary.—(A. and N.Z.) Mr. Harry Fagg Batterbee, C.M.G., C’V.O., is aged 43 and entered the Colonial Office in 1905. He was private I secretary to the Secretary of State for I the Colonies from 1916-19. He was • educated at Faversham Grammar School and Hertford College, Oxford, where he obtained his M.A. degree. Mr John Aubrey Pearce Edgcumbe, C.8.E., has been Assistant-Director of the Department of Overseas Trade since 1919- He was educated at Winchester College, and Magdalene College, Cambridge. He was on the National Health Insurance Commission in 1912, and attended thq Peace Conference in Paris in 1919 He is aged 37. <
