The Hastings Orchestral Society will present a grand concert at the Municipal Theatre on November 26th. Electric Batteries Ltd. advertise batteries for all makes of cars. The Public Trust Office and Messrs. Logan, Williams and White call for claims agaiust deceased estatee. An organ recital will be given in the Hastings Methodist Church on Tuesday evening next. A free lecture will be given in the Orange Hall, Lyiftkm road, Hastings, to-morrow evening, on “The Silence of the Dead.” Th© Mercantile and General Insurance Company announces that after Tuesday next applications for shares will be subject to a premium of 2/6 per share. The company will begin business probably on December Ist. Its capital is £1,250,000 and the capital issue £200,000. ofy which about £165,000 has been subscribed. The monthly meeting of the Farmers’ !Union will be held in the Chamber of 'Commerce rooms, Queen street, Hastings, on Thursday next at 1.30 p.m. All members of the Union are invited to attend. A notice to the ratepayers of the Raupare Drainage District is inserted in this issue. Th© Hastings Borough Council inserts a notice in this issue calling tenders for painting and lettering a motor lorry.
