BROCKENHURST CHURCH.
PROPOSED NEW ZEALAND MEMORIAL BEL\ It has been suggested that many of the, relatives, friends, and representatives of the one hundred New Zealand soldiers who were buried in Broekonhurst Paris Churchyard might be willing to contribute to the Parish Church Bells Fund to the extent of presenting the parish with a New Zealand Memorial Bell (writes the London correspondent of the Christchurch “Press") An effort is now being made to re-hang, turn, and re-tune the three old bells, and to acid three new bells, so as to form a peal -worthy of the ancient church and parish. The complete scheme will cost about -£4OO, and the cost of each of the three neiv bells (being small ones) will only be about £6O. It is hoped that if sufficient contributions are sent from New Zealand, one of the three now bells will be dedicated as a New Zealand Memorial 8011, “nearing a suitable inscription. The link between New Zealand and Brockenhurst is a very sacred one. The parishoiners of Brockenhurst do not forget their many New Zealand friends. The New Zealand Soldiers’ Graves Enclosure is always beautifully kept, and the children are being trained to tend and decorate those graves. The New 7 Zealand Dominion Flag, presented by the New Zealand Hospital Staff on demobilising in 1919, hangs in the old Parish Church. A New 7 Zealand Bell w’ould bo a more substantial and permanent memorial. The vicar and churchwardens, on behalf of the Parochial Church Council, will welcome any contributions, however small, which should bo sent as soon as possible, to the hon. secretary, Miss Al. G. Watson, Alardon, Brockenhurst, Hants.
