COUNTERFEIT HALF-CROWNS.
MINT MESSENGER IMPRISONED. (Received 16, 9.5 a.m.) London, Nov. 15. Bowie, the Royal Mint messenger, was sentenced to three years’ penal servitude. He admitted that he collected a number of blanks by going to the mint before he was due and struck four half-crowns and attempted to change them.—(A. and N.Z.)
