NEW CHARGES AT AVELLINGTON. (Our own correspondent)Wellington, Nov. 16. Freedom in the use of water supplied by the city corporation is to b© curtailed in future by means of a new by-law.’ which provides that wherever an extraordinary supply of water is used it shall be supplied through a meter and charged for in six-monthly periods, and that an agreement is to be made between the corporation and the consumer to that end. The water so drawn from the service reservoir to which the supply is pumped will be charged for at the rate of Is 6d per 1000 gallons; in other cases the charge will be Is per 1000 gallons.
