(Own correspondent). CONFIRMATION SERVICE. Bishop D. Sedgwick, who is in Waipawa as the guest of .Canon Butterheld, will hold .a confirmation service at St. Peters Church to-morrow evening. WAR MEMORIAL. A public meeting is to be held in the Borough Chambers on Friday evening under the auspices of the Waipawa progressive Association with a view to promoting a carnival early in the New Tear to raise funds for the completion of the war memorial- The proceeds of the Horticultural Annual Show to be held next Wednesday, including a “Paddy’s Market,” aw to lie devoted io the same object and doubtless the response in each case will be such as to ensure the completion of and a fitting setting to what is considered a most imposing memorial by next Anzac Day. Messrs L. Pratley, J. Kerr, and L. P. Rollings, representing the District High School, Ruataniwha and Onga Onga School Committees respectively are attending the meeting of the Education Board to-day in reference to the conveyance of High School pupils and other matters. A SLIGHT FROST.

A slight frost was experienced here on Tuesday night and as a result the tomato plants and early beans stirred in the low-lying localities.
