TROTSKY SHOT.
WOUNDED IN THE HEAD.
GREAT SECRECY MAINTAINED.
(Received 15, 9.45 a.m.) London, Nov. 14. A Moscow message reports that Trotsky’s non-attendance at the Red Revolution anniversary celebrations on the 7th i s stated to be due to sudden illness, but was really due to an attempt on his life. When he was delivering a speech a revolver shot from the auditorium hit Trotsky in the head. The greatest secrecy is being maintained as to the extent of the wound.
It is reported that a surgeon from Munich has arrived at Moscow and is attending Trotsky.—(Times.)
