London, Nov. J 3. The Australian and New Zealand Press Association learns, that an interesting situation has arisen regarding the shipment of cement to Australia. Some months ago the shipping companies. acceding to the request of shippers. reduced the freight from 4s 6d to 4s per cask.

When shipments at the lower rate reached Australia the Commonwealth Customs charged importers an antidumping duty of sixpence per cask. Shippers then approached the shipping companies, saying they would rather nay, the extra sixpence to the companies than to the Government Today shipowners raised the freight to 4r 6d—(A. and N.Z )
