SIXTH BATTERY SPORTS. The annual swimming sports of the fith Battery (Napier) were held in the Municipal Baths last evening. Results: 33 1-3 yards. —First heat: Symons 1, Dooley 2. Second heat: Broderick 1, Ki veil 2. Third heat: N. S. Hunt 1, Merrick 2. Fourth heat: Major Phillips 1. W. L. Hunt 2. Final: N. S. Hunt 1. Symons 2, Major Fillips 3. Time, 24 4-5 secs. 66 2-3 yards.—Wilson 1, Merrick 2, Major Phillips 3. Time, 55 secs. 100 yards.—Hogg 1, Kivell 2. Time, 75 secs.
Teams’ race.—D sub-section (Sergt. Boston, Gunners Coutts, Symons and Austin) 1, A sub-section 2, B sub-sec-tion C sub-section 4. Time, Imin 25 secs.
Diving. —Hogg (43 points) 1, Coutts (41) 2, N. S. Hunt (33) 3. All the events were part of a scheme for competition for the Nelson Cup, i presented by K. McLeay for the batlery.
