WESTERN MAORI CASE THE HEARING OPENED. (Per Press Association.) Tauranga, March 7. The hearing of the election petition against the return ot Sir Maui Poaare for the Western Maori electoral -district commenced to-day before Mr. Justice Hosking and Mr. Juatice Stringer. Thirteen specific cases of bribery, corruption and illegal practices are alleged, and irregularities, improprieties and failures to comply with the legislature in taking the poll ■ are also alleged.
