The beach at t Kairakeiu is a greater attraction than last year, visitors being there from all parts of the district. The trades people report very good Christmas business, and. it is hoped that the slump is now definitely over. During the holidays the high wind blew down an old willow tree in Mr Ward’s paddock, part of it falling across the line, and temporarily blocking the morning express. The maintenance gang quickly cleared the line and the express was only delayed a short while.
