SLIGHT SHOCK IN CANTERBURY

Christchurch. Jan. 5

A slight earthquake was felt at Christchurch at ten minutes before midnight. The shock awakened residents in Waikari, but was not alarming and did no damage. The, residents of Cheviot were wakened by two distinct shockq just before midnight. The third shake occurred at 2 a.m.. but was very slight.
