A Wellington correspondent to a Palmerston North newspaper has supplied the information that Mr. D. F. Wilbur, Consul-General for the United States, has. by the death of his brother inherited a fortune of six million dollars. On being consulted Mr. Wilbur laughed heartily, and said that he wished it was so. As a matter oi fact, his brother’s business had been left in trust, and he was leaving in April to take over the control, but what it was worth was more than he or anyone else in New Zealand knew.
