Ou the Auckland summer racing carnival of seven days—four at Ellerslie and three at Epsom, the investments showed a serious drop, and at Ellerslie there was a shortage of £52,231, the drop at Epsom being much, smaller, the decrease showing £21,458, which makes a total deficiency of £73,689. The investments as compared with lhc two previous years are;—
