Sydney, Jan. 4. Details of the New South Wales State revenue for the half year show that besides a large increase in receipts the expenditure decreased by £759,000. The total improvement compared with the previous half vear bo£1,322,000. The French squadron arrived at Sydney and was officially welcomed. Melbourne Jan. 4. The Victorian Cabinet declined to sanction the Melbourne City Council’s proposal to authorise the playing of games in the public parks on Sundays. The reasons for the decision which was unexpected, have not lieen disclosed. Hobart, Jan. 5. Th© Stat© revenue for the six months ended December 31 decreased £22.881 compared with the corresponding period of 1921.
