PUKAHU.
(Own Correspondent.) Mrs. Estaugh held a kitchen tea nt her residence last Wednesday in honour of Miss M. O. Greene who is shortly to be married. A large number of the residents brought along useful presents. In a neat little speech Mrs. Estaugh expressed the general regret at losing such a popular teacher. She felt that she voiced the opinion of everyone when she said that Miss Greene had proved herself an excellent teacher. Miss Greene suitably responded. A very enjoyable time was spent. Mrs. Estaugh supplied refreshments. A very old ami respected resident in the person ot Mr. C. Neilsen passed away at his residence here last Tuesday morning. Mr. Neilsen was of a quiet and unassuming disposition and his death passed quite a gloom over the township. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon. A short service was held at the house. The Rev. R. Waugh was the officiating clergyman at the graveside. The final school concert for the year will take place next Friday. The teachers have been hard at" work for some time training the children, and everyone is looking forward to an enjoyable evening.
