SHIELD AND PENNANT. The weather was fine on Saturday. In the Shield matches, Wairere succeeded in beating Port Ahuriri by the narrow margin of one point on the aggregate, the totals being Wairere 60, Port 59. Hastings beat Napier on the aggregate by 74 to 63; Bluff Hill beat Nga Toa (40 to 38) and Kia Toa, accounted for St. Leonard’s (40 to 39).
