A SECTION (NAPIEB.) Batting first against United, H.S.0.8. made 107 (Cameron 28, Amyes 19, Chctwin 15 not out.) When time was called United had four wickets down for 130 (Moore 64 not out, Bickerstaff 25 not out, Minett 20). Soft Goods, who were two men short, made 55 runs in their first innings against Technical Old Boys. Technical replied with 65 runs. When stumps were drawn, Soft Goods had lost four wickets for 58 runs in their second innings. B SECTION (NAPIER.) Scinde, playing throe men short against Technical College, made only 61 runs in their first innings (Neal 26, Forsyth 16). Technical had made 294 runs for eight wickets when time was called. Cohen, w-ith 138 not out, put up the J highest score this season so far, while other good scores were Ellis 57, Anderson 24, Manning 20. The good score of 205 was made by High School in their first innings against M. 8.0.8., the best scores being P. Williams 50, Bull 34, Vogtherr ;6, Garnett 25 not out. Marists have lost three wickets for 48 runs. JUNIOR. St. Matthew’s v. Whakatu. Whakatu, in their first strike, went dow'n for 17, Birch with 6 being the top scorer. Bickley took six wiekets for 7 runs and Rendall four for 5. St. Matthew’s made 177 (Blewett 51 not out , List 47, Corliss 16, Watkins 12, Lassen 12). Anderson with two wickota for 25 runs, Cushing two for 46, Thurlow two for 18, were Whakatu’s most effective bowlers. Havelock v. Y.M.C.A. Havelock recorded 56 (Ball 14, Connelly 11 not out). Herd took four wickets for 20 runs, Fitzgerald four for 27, and Willoughby one for 4. Y.M.C.A. batting short, replied with 5’ (Firth 13). Goldfinch took five wickets for 25 runs and Webb three for 27. When stumps were drawn Havelock had ouc wicket down in their second innings for 23 runs. THIRD GRADE. Y.M.C.A. v. High School B. Y.M.C.A. run up 65 (Wilkie 22), and the School responded with 38 (Jones 28). In their second attempt, Y.M.C.A. made 47, and the School, with 75 to win, only made 57 (Fortune 30, Dolbel 13). Y.M.C.A. thus won a 3-point victory by 17 runs. FOURTH GRADE. Y.M.C.A. v. High School C. Y.M.C.A. put up 106 in their first innings (Burns 63 not out), and the School were all out for 14. Burns took five wickets for 4, and Kinnon four for 2. High School were only equal to 19 in their second strike. McKinnon took six wickets for 5 runs, and Burns three for 12. Y.M.C.A. secured a threepoint win by an innings and 73 runs.
