SOLDIER EMIGRANTS.
FEW FAILURES IN AUSTRALIA. • London, Dec. 9. Mr. Barnes, replying to Earl Haig’s reference to distressed ex-soldiers in Australia, says this year the department sent to the whole of Australia 33,000 immigrants, including 21,000 exservice men. From immigrants returned to Britain they had received' a negligible nuumber of complaints. An investigation proved that the failures were due entirely to the inability of the individuals to adapt themselves to Australian conditions.—(A. and N.Z.)
