EVENING COMPETITIONS
The dub held a series of competitions in the Maddison Baths (Hastings) last night, when there were twelve competitors and the finishes were very close, while th© diving was particularly good. An exhibition of fancy diving by th© members was also much enjoyed by the large gathering of spectators present and a very in- • teresting programme concluded at 9 a.m. when the baths were thrown open to the public, a considerable numoer taking advantage of th© opportunity have a splash. The cltfb management intend to hold these competitions every Fnday evening. Results: Boys’ Race (25 yds).—First heat: ChTiton 1, Simpson 2, Martin 3. Second ; Gordon 1, Nesbitt 2, Mitchell 3 Third: Rose 1, Naylor 2, Fitswilliams 3 Final: Simpson 1. Chilton 2, Nesbitt 3. Very close finish.
