It is understood Lord Curzon privately assured ismet Pasha that after th© acceptance of the Allied plan the Allies would promote international recognition of the neutrality of Constantinople by means of a definite guarantee by all nations represented on the commission of control.
Signor Mussolini has arrived, en route to London. He dined with Lord Curzon, M. Barrere, and Signor Gnrroni.
Signor Mussolini, interviewed by journalists, declared that the Allies had made reasonable proposals, and the Turks’ non-acceptance of them would mean war.—(A. and N.Z.)
NEW PARTY IN TURKEY
KEMAL 'PASHA’S PLAN
Constantinople, December 7
Komal announces that he is forming a new party called the People’s Party as soon as peace is concluded. He in. vites the co-operation of educated Turks in the formation of a programme of economic and administrative reconstruction, declaring: “The nation has regained its independence, but it is not enough to have conquered by our arms. We must strengthen th© State in political economic, and administrative domains.”—4A. and N.Z.)
GREEK MOBILISATION.
GOVERNMENT EAGER TO STRIKE
The “Daily Express” Athens Correspondent states that the Greek Government, with the reorganised army, is eagerly watching for the moment when Britain will break off negotiations with the Turks and lend the Greeks her moral support. With this in view the Greek army has lieen mobilised. General Panghalos, interviewed, said: “Greece is prepared, should a rupture in the negotiations come, to attack the Turks immediately. Our men long for revenge. We shall beat the Turks.” (A. and N.Z.)
