THREE REFORMERS AND ONE LIBERAL.

Yesterday the polling took place throughout the Dominion for the Maori seats in thg House of Representatives, and resulted in the reelection of the retiring members. Messrs Tan Henare (Northern), H. W Uru (Southern), A. T. Ngata (East-, ern) and Sir Maui Pomare (Western). Twelve returns are to come in the latter electorate, but they are not nkely to affect the result. - Following are the returns for the several seats NORTHERN. MAORI LICENSING POLL. RESTORATION CARRIED AT HOROUTA. Gisborne. Dec. 6. Details of the liquor poll in the Horouta Maori district are not available, hut the East Coast correspondent of the “Gisborne Times” states that restoration was carried by an overwhelming majority. The Horonta district went dry in 1911 by 551 votes to 411. As an illustration of the vot mg on this occasion, the result nt Te Araroa was: For Restoration 131, for Prohibition 10. This poll was confined to Maori electors alone, and has been taken in order to decide merely whether tho prohibition of the sale of liquor to natives in the district, which took effect in 1911, should be revoked.
