Official quotations are:— New Zealand.—Salted. 214/ to 218/ pqr cwt. (1/10 3-4 to 1/11 1-4 per lb.; unsalted, 224/ per cwt. (2/ per lb.). Australian.—Salted. 204 /U> 208/ per cwt. (9 3-4 to JOd per lb.); white, unsalted 216/ per cwt. (1/11 per lb.). Argentine.—2o4/ to 212/ per cwt. (1/9 o-4 to 1, lu 3-4 per lb.(. Irish.—Salted, 190/ to 200/ per cwt. 1/9 1-4 tu 1/101 per lb.); unsalted, 206/ to 212/ per cwt. (1/10 to 1/10 3-4 per lb.). Danish.—22o/ to 222/ per cwt. (1/11J to 1/11 3-4 per io.). French.—2l4/ to 224/ per cwt, (1/10 3-4 to 2/ per lb.). CHEESE. Alarket firm, with good demand. Otticiai quotations are:— iihiglisn.—l’ inest iarmers’ 110/ to 112/ up to 116/ per cwt. (11 3-4 d tu i/Of per lb.). Canadian.—Coloured, 88/ to 92/ up to 94/ per cwt. (9|d to lOd per lb.). New Zealand.—'Coloured. 90/ to 92/ per cwt. (1/9 3-4 to 1,10 1-4 per lb.); 94/ to 96/ per cwt. (lOd to 10 1-4 per lb). No shipments from New Zealand arrived this week.

AVOOL. Bradford market quiet, but firm. Present quotations are: Tops, 64’s (merino) 5/; 56’s (super halfbred), ;40’s prepared (coarse crossbred), 1/1.2. At Hull Bawra sales this week 32.0W0 hales were offered, of which 8000 were New Zealand, selection only medium. Compared with last London series, merino and fine crossbred realised par to 5 per cent, dearer. Other

crossbreds remained unchanged, offerings of coarse crossbred were partly withdrawn where bills were less than London dosing rates; 95 per cent, ol thu cffei'iugs iwere sold; the withdrawals consisted of 1250 bales of New Zealand and 350 Australian crossbred. Good attendance and competition at sale. HONEY.

Demand has improved, but New Zealand product is feeling keen competition from Californian brands, which are offered at: White, 58/ per cwt.; good light amber. 44/ per cwt. New Zealand bulk is making a premium at

20/ to 30/ per cwt. on about similar grade to Californian. LONGHANDS STOCK SALE. Messrs. Hoad ley. Son, and Stewart, Ltd., report having held their fortnightly Longlands stock sale yesterday, when they offered a good yarding of both sheep and cattle to a good attendance of the public. Sales effected were as follow: —Springing dairv cows CB, £5 15/. £4, £4 10/, £6. 2’empty fairv heifers £2 10/, I at £2 3/ I at £3 5 . 1 2-yr. TALLOW. The following is a copy of a cable received by Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Na pier, from their head office, London, dated 27th September, 1922:— Tallow:—l93o casks of tallow offered at auction and 1400 sold. Demand chiefly for medium and lower descriptions. Fine mutton 40s 6d to 41s, fine beef 41s. Good mixed 6d dearer at 38s 6d. Medium ami inferior average Is higher.
