Timaru. Sept. 29. Mr. Craigie, M.P.. in a published address to nis constituents, definitelyannounced that he will not seek reelection at the close of the present Parliament. FIRST SHOT IN HALICE’S BAY. The political campaign in Hawke’s Nay will be opened on Monday evening next when AJexsrs. Geo. Forbes. M.P., W. A. Veitch. M.P., and Mr Gilbert McKay, candidate for Hawke’s Bav, will deliver addresses in the Aasembly Hall, Hastings, commencing at 8 o’clock. THE COUNTRY PARTY. MAY NOT CONTEST SEATS. Mr. W. J. Polson, president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, stated to a Manawatu "Times” reporter that now that the Government had dedded to go in for an agricultural bank* has already drastically curtailed expenditure, and had taken a determined stand in regard to marketing control, it was probable the Country Party ” which consisted of metnbers of the Farmers’ Union in the Anokla43 province, would not at the General Election.
