PRINCE AS GOLFER.

CAPTAIN OF ROYAL ANCIENT CLUB. (Received 28, 12.15 p.m.) London, Sept. 27. In drizzling rain a crowd of 5000 assembled to see the Prince of Wales play himself in as captain of the Royal An J cient Club by driving a ball from the first tee on the old course. The Prince, with Andrew Kirkcaldy acting as caddie, droYe a good ball down the middle of the fairway. A scrummage followed for possession of the ball, which a local clubmaker retirieved and) handed over to the Prince, receiving a handshake and a sovereign.
