(Own correspondent). 'The usual monthly school committee meeting was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrs W. Cuthbertson (chairman), F. Gray (secretary), F. H. Hillier. R. Walters, F. A. Thompson and A. Campbell. The headmaster reported that the roll number was 159, .average attendance 143. and highest attendance 147. The school had been visited on 1’ riday, 15th September, by Mr. VV. <’. Morris. Director of Manual and Technical Education in Hawke’s Bay ; It was decided to thank Mr. \\ . G. Morton for kindly sending his plant to cut the school firewood, free of cost. It was decided to run in conjunction with the football club committee a dance in aid of the .school funds. It was decided to accept the kind offer of the picture-show propneb to give a beneiit evening and matinee in aid of the school funds.
