CHURCH NOTES.
The Turk, who is he? Why is he in Europe. These questions are heard on every hand. The situation in the Balkan States alone is serious, to say nothing of its far-reaching influence. It 1 is deeply significant. A new series of lectures dealing with political affairs commences on Sunday night at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. See announcement. Rev. T. Keith Ewen will be the officiating minister at the Hastings Baptist Church to-morrow. “He shall cast forth his roots at Izebanon” will be the theme of his morning address, and “The healing hand that marshals the stars” in tho evening. He will also conduct an afternoon service at Pukahu. “Tukey a Menace.” Why? The situation in European politics, and its bearing on future events, which forms th 4? basis of a series of lectures to be given at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, commencing on Sunday evening next, promises to be not only instructive but intensely interesting. The Rev A. Alcßean will conduct both services nt the Alethodist Church tomorrow. In the morning he will speak on “Being made free from the law,” and in the evening on “ Laughtcd out of the Kingdom.” Air Alcßean will also conduct the service at Alangatcretere at' 3 o’clock. The Rev A. E. Hunt, who lias been acting as supply with much acceptance in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, will conduct his farewell services tomorrow. Subject for 11 o’clock service, “The Wastes of Influence,” and at 7 o’clock, “Citizenship and the Law of Christ.” Air Hunt will also speak at the afternoon Bible class tea. The question of greatest moment in ± the political world to-day is what will bo the outcome of the Near East crisis? A lecture bearing on this subject will be delivered in the Orange Hall, Lyndon road, on Sunday at 7 < p.m., showing the destiny of the Turk- k ish Empire as foretold in the Scriptures. and exhibiting the significance - of present day happenings in the Near East as an indication of the nearness of the second coming of Christ.
