COSY DE LUXE. The large audience at the Cosy last evening were enthusiastic over Jackie Coogan’s own picture, ‘‘Peck’s Bad Boy,” and the roars of laughter at times was deafening. The lovable little youngster—six vears of age; — who won the hearts of all who saw; him in “The Kid.” is given even a bigger role in “Peck’s Bad Boy.” As the star of this latest production, he is Been as a regular American boy, full of mischief and full of fun. who is always making a “peck” of trouble for himself, and particularly for others. The sub-titles are the clever work of that master humourist, Irving S. Cobb, the production having been adapted from the volumes of the late Governor George Peck. In the cast supporting Jackie Coogan are such well known artists as Doris May, Wheeler Oakman, and Raymond Hat ton. Other pictures of merit on the programme were the chapter play, “Stanley in Africa,” a Chester comedy “Ready for Service,” and the usual gazettes. The same series will be I screened again this evening. . MUNICIPAL. The featured production on the current programme at the Hastings Municipal Theatre is “Love’s Penalty,” starring Hope Hampton, and is a dramatic production of high-class quality from the First National studios. Miss Hampton plays the part of the innocent cause of the human tragedy around which the play revolves, by marrying the man who has pledged himself to another. Grand supporting pictures are “The Man with the Twisted Lip.” a Sherlock Holmes story, Pathe’s review and topical gaettes.
