FREE STATERS AMBUSHED. (Received 20, 12.10 p.m.) London, Sept. 19. Free Staters pursuing Irregulars retreating to Ballina ran into an ambush in the Mayo hills in the neighbourhood of Bangorerris. They succeeded in beating off their assailants after a stiff fght. Two officers and six men were killed and ten Irregulars were killed and several wounded.
