THE LABOUR WORLD.

ANGLO-AMERICAN MINERS’ ALLIANCE. RECIPROCITY DURING STRIKES. New York, Sept. 17. At Atlantic City, secretary Green, of the United Mine Workers of America, announced that British miners’ unions suggested an international alliance of coal miners, to work reciprocally to prevent coal exportation during strikes. He said this had been favourably received here, and probably will shortly result in a meeting of representatives of British and American miners, possibly including the transport workers, without whose co-operation the export of coal could not be prevented. Mr Green pointed out that f.uch an arrangement would shorten the duration of strikes, and stated that the British Miners' Union had sent £5OOO to help finance the recent American coal strike.—(A. and N.Z.) FRANCO GERMAN INDUSTRIALISTS. Berlin, Sept. 17. It is reported that an agreement has been signed at Stuttgart between South German and French groups of industrialists.—(A. and N.Z.) FRENCH SEAMEN’S STRIKE. ENDED BUT UNSETTLED. Paris, Sept. 17. The seamen’s strike has ended and ships are sailing as usual. The men’s leaders state the next step will be the adoption of means to make the new working arrangements unworkable.— (Reuter).
