WAIPUKURAU.

Mr. Bert Popplewell, who is wellknown locally, is again an inmate of tne Waipukurau Hospital. Air. G. Shackleford is in the local hospital and is progressing favourably after an operation. Mr. H. J. Lancaster, of the firm of Hay and Vickerman, consulting engineer to the Waipukurau Borough Council, was in Waipukurau yesterday in connection with the borough electric scheme. It is anticipated that the proceeds of the masked ball held in the Town Hall, Waipukurau, on Thursday will amount to £2O, which amount is in aid of the blind fund. The following books have been added to tlie public library :— “My Discovery of England” (Stephen Leacock), “Huntingtower” (John Buchan). Flower services will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Sunday next. It is requested that flowers be sent to the church on Saturday afternoon.
