N.S.W. BUDGET.
LOSSES ON STATE ENTERPRISES. Sydney, Sept. 13. In the Assembly Mr. A. A. C. Cocks, delivering the Budget, announced the estimated revenue at £35,472,000 and 1 expenditure £35,466,000. No details were given respecting proposals for the reduction of taxation, but it is understood exemption will be reduced to £2OO as a set-off to the abolition of sixpence in the pound super-tax. The railway position is so gloomy that it will not permit of a drastic reduction of fares and freights. State enterprises showed a total loss of £105,000, including the timber yards. There was a loss of £50,000 on the trawlers.—(A. and N.Z.)
