TAKAPAU DAFFODIL SOCIETY.

FIRST ANNUAL SHOW'. A daffodil show under the auspices of the Takapau Presbyterian Church was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday afternoon and evening. The show was so successful that it warrants the promoters in establishing it as an annuaa affair. The brunt of the work fell to Mrs W. Jackson and Rev. W. Irvine who, as president and secretary respectively, worked hard and capably to attain the result achieved. The judges were Mr. C. Douglas Wilson, of Napier, and Mr. Connor, of Hastings. Exhibits for show purposes were displayed by Mr. Connor who staged a fine selection of seedlings and hybrids, and Mrs W. Jacksun, who showed a decorated table of assorted spring flowers. Tea rooms and fancy, sweet and food stalls were successfully run in conjunction with the flower show, am,! lor the benefit of its funds. In the evening the Takapau Orchestra, under the baton of Mr. W. G. Morton, played selections, which were appreciated. Following is the prize list: — OPEN CLASSES.
