BOWLERS' CONFERENCE.

SOOUTH ISLAND TOURNAMENT. Auckland, Sept. 14. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association opened to-dav. Delegates were present from Wellington, Christchurch. Dunedin, Wanganui, Invercargill, Taranaki and Auckland. The annual report showed the association had had a most successful year, and a credit balance ot LlB2 against £l6 last year. There were 216 clubs affiliated, with a membership of 13,949, compared with the 238 clubs and members of 13,301 oi the previous year. The president, Mr. \\. Coltman congratulated pie Otago centre. who controlled the Dominion Association affairs Last year, and the tournament, on the success which attended their efforts. A. Coltman (Auckland) was appointed secretary, and G. Gladding (Auckland) auditor. The Dunedin centre was granted permission to hold a rink tournament at Christmas. South Otago centre’s application to hold a tournament on January Ist, 2nd and 3rd, was left to the executive as it might clash with the Southland centre’s fixture. It was stated that Dunedin would not object to them holding it at Christmas. The Christchurch centre was granted permission to hold the South Island tournament on December 29th, 30th and January Ist and 2nd.
