. CONTROL OF PHOSPHATES. (Received 14, 10.35 a.m.) Geneva, September 13. The sub-committee, Dr. Nansen presiding, passed a resolution on Lord Robert Cecil’s motion, Mr. Justice Rich, and Sir Francis Bell supporting, denying the Mandates Commission’s allegations that Britain Australia, and New Zealand reserved to themselves phosphate rights. It is anticipated that there will be another fight when the sub-committee’s report reaches th© full commitee.—(A. and N.Z.) RESLT OF NEWSPAPER ARTICLES. Melbourne, September 14. Mr. W,. M. Hughes says the allegations in connection with Nauru circulated before the Mandates Commission were based largely on articles written in Australian newspapers and reproduced in Germany and on the Continent, and are without foundation.—(A. and N.Z.)
