LADIES’ REPRESENTATIVE. OTAGO v. CANTERBURY. Dunedin, Sept. 13. A ladies’ representative hockey mtach, Otago versus Canterbury was played to-day. The ground was in a very sloppy state, state. The game resulted: Canterbury 5, Otago 2. AUSTRALIA v. OTAGO. Dunedin, Sept. 13. ’ A match, Australia versus Otago, was played to-day in bitterly cold weather, and resulted in a win for the visitors by 3 goals to 1. Seaman scored all three for the visitors, and Turbott for Otago. Australia at times completely dominated the play, but Otago’s defence was wonderfully good. Add Bowling DOMINION ASSOCIATION. Auckland, Sept. 13. The Heathcote Club (Christchurch) was granted affiliation. It was decided that the annual tournament be held in Auckland, starting on January 10 with singles and doubles, on January 12, rinks and sectional play on January 15 and 18, rink play to consist of two games of 25 heads each. The day after the conclusion of section play the two-life system to apply. Post section play to consist of three games of 21 heads each. Day players defeated twice in the singles to drop out of the competition. Umpires at the tournament are to have power to test bowls.
