HARBOUR BOUNDARIES.

The report of the commission which recently went into the question of the boundaries between the Napier, Wairoa, Gisborne, and Whakatane harbour districts was received by the Napier Board to-day. The northern boundary of the Napier area has been altered, the Wairoa districts having been awarded a triangular area between the Waihua River (old boundary) and a point about cigilt* miles above Mohaka River, the apex being at the south end of Pihanui Block. The Napier Board, however, secures a large area, portion of the Rotokarangu Block, which is European, while the balance of the area it loses is native owned.

The commission declared that Wairoa should pay 75 per cent of the cost of the commission. Napier 12| per cent., and Gisborne 12 per cent. Nappier’s share, amountoing to £3O 9/5, was passed for payment.
