The weather was good and the attendance satisfactory. Sixteen members, whose half-holiday is on Wednesday were unable to take part in the opening. The deputy-president’s team carried off the honours by eight points. Rifleman C. J. H. Baker, who won the command championship of N.Z., made, top score with 97, and Rifleman G. Campbell made a possible at 300 yards. A feature of the gathering was the number of senior cadets present. Veteran W. Hislop fired seven shots at 500 yards and put on four bulls and three inners, a fine performance for a marksman of his age.
