Tne police state that the young man admitted to breaking into 17 places and stealing goods wortn £5,000. Among cue places mentioned were Burroughs, Wellcome (twice), Meddows Bros., ixent street (twice), Ainsworth’s Ltd., Liverpool street (twice), Dodge ’ Bros., Harcourts, Ltd., the Sydney Co-operative Supply Stores, Wa/der’s, J. 1. Brown, J. Black, “Helene,” the Repatriation Stores, Robert Kelly, Ltd-, the City Art Co., and Tillam and BoeUne. As well as the goods the detectives found in the flat a complete set of burglars’ tools arranged in a leather outfit, which could be worn underneath the clothes. MORE GOODS RECOVERED. Sydney, Aug. 6. Still further arrests have been made by the police in connection with recent robberies. At 3.30 on Friday morning two men were taken from a fiat in , Woolcott street. Darlinghurst, ia con--1 nection with a robbery from a new shop in Darlinghurst road. ! Goods worth about £4O were also taken from the flat. CHARGES OF RECEIVING. Sydney, Aug- 9. A man was arrested recently and charged with shop-breaking and breaking and entering, involving property valued at about £l,lOO, and a number of other charges of a similar nature are to be preferred against him, involving a further £4,000 worth of goods. Yesterday afternoon Detective Lynch, with a number of other members of the Criminal Investigation Department, arrested three men on charges of receiving stolen property. One of them is a well-known city business man.
