EVERYBODY’S. “The City of Beautiful Nonsense,’’ one of the two features at the current' screening at Everybody’s Theatre, ’ Hastings, is adapted from the novel by E. Temple Thurston, and features Chrisie White, the charming English screen favourite. The story is a picturesque one of Venice and London. • “Man’s Desire’’ is a Robertson-Cole dramatic production of the north-west lumber country with Lewis S. Stone in the principal "role. The supports are made up of the latest Gazettes and the J orchestraMUNICIPAL. “THE ROCKS OF VALPRE.” “The Rocks of Valpre,” an adaptation of the widely-read novel by Ethel ' M. Dell, has been picturised, and makes its appearance at the Hastings -J Municipal Theatre on to-morrow evening. It is a cleverly constructed plot concerning a French officer’s meeting I with a young English girl, who is yet 'j j too young to realise the depth of his ?i i affection. He fights a duel in defence of the girl’s honour, and for the first ' time in her life she thrills at the j thought of his regard for her. Circumstances part them and later when they jl meet in England the girl is married to i a friend of the officer. Complications ft ensure and the officer returns to •« France, and is arrested for selling the <1 plans of a patent breech-block. His •: friend again comes to his rescue realising that the scandal concerning his past •} is untrue, but the officer’s health is « undermined as a result of his imprison--3 merit and he does not live to realise that honour has been restored to him. 5 A splendid cast portrays the respective roles. Tho usual supports will also be shown.
