FRENCH TEXTILE STRIKE.
XVAGE REDUCTIONS OPPOSED. (Received 16, 8.55 a.m.) Paris, August 15. Textile workers at- Lille, Roubaix, and Tourcoing have struck against the employers’ proposal tQ reduce wages by 40 centimes an hour, with a further reduction of ten in a few weeks. A few establishments are still at work. There were 1600 strikers at Lille out of 1900 employees.—(A. and N.Z.)
