THE PICTURE HOUSES.
MUNICIPAL. I A bumper house greeted Priscilla Dean in “The Wild Cat of Paris,” at the Hastings Municipal Theatre, on Saturday evening. This versatile actress has an exceedingly difficult role to interpret, but she comes through with flying colours. As in “The Virgin of Stamboul.” PrisciPa Dean has a fiery part to play, and it seems to suit her admirably. She stirs up tho Apaches of Paris to madness pitch, and they enter into the conflict to push back the ' German hordes with enthusiasm that is hard to realise. The supporting cast is a carefully-selected one, the part of “The Toad’ being executed with masterfulness. The serial is certainly exciting and those who witnessed the chapters on Saturday will surely want to see the next ones. A comedy, gazettes and the orchestra are splendid supports. To-night will be the last time of screening. EVERYBODY’S. A well satisfied audience filed out of Everybody’s Theatre, Hastings, on Saturday evening ,after witnessing a programme in udiich “The City of , Beautiful Nonsense” and “Man’s I Desire” were the features and which were of high entertaining value, beautifully staged and interesting in story. In tlie first-named Chrissie White is the star, and in the second Lewis S. Stone holds pride of place. The supporting items of Gazettes and the selections rendered by the Orchestra added materially to the worth of the programme. The same series will be screened again this evening.
