The tenders of W. Robertshaw was accepted for re-building the “Brow” ’ bridge, £4,353 and Week’s bridge, ; £1,400. The question of unpaid rates on I soldier settlements was discussed. The 1 clerk stated that the Takapau riding !, had been hard hit and practically bankrupt and thought that a conference of Government and local body representatives should be called r to discuss matters. The chairman said 1 he could see nothing for it but for the r Government to reduce the value of the 1 holdings. He intended bringing the - matter before the next Land Board - meeting. , r The pay-sheet of £3.4<0, which in--1 eluded .loans account for bridges etc., - was passed for payment and the day of meetings was fixed for the first luesday in every month.
