FACE, SYDNEY, WINS KING’S PRIZE. BAD CONDITIONS FOR LAST STAGE. Sydney, Oct. 29. The last stage of the King s Prize, 800 and 900 yards, was fired in a heavy and erratic wind. A dull, uneven light was rendered worse by the clouds and dust conditions, and proved fatal to the chances of those more prominent in the early rounds. The winner was J. Face (Sydney), with a score of 327. Porritt (Lithgow) was second with 326. At 800 yards, Porritt’s total was 257 and Face 204. Face at 906 yards put on thirteen bulls and two tours, just beating -Porritt on the last shot. Richardson (Britain; made 320. New z-ealanders were not among‘the first flight. Detailed scores are not available to-night. In Sargood’s Gold Cup, for teams of four, the winners. Bandwick, Literary Institute, scored 277, the Britishers 276, and Marlborough 268, but as some of the Marlborough representatives are only honorary members they had to forego the third prize of £l2, which went toVLithgow with a score of 267. The shoot-off for the tie in the second stage of the King’s Prize resulted in Kendall beating Richardson by uae poult.
