BLACKBURN.
(Own Correspondent). Many changes have taken place, in the district of late, owing tq several properties having changed hands, and amongst these are Mr. and Mrs. Hardy, whose removal will be a keen loss to the district. Mrs. Hardy has acted as post and telegraph mistress for 28 years, aua on the eve of her departure waa presented by the Pendle Hill residents with a lovely manicure set, 'as a token of remembrance and appreciation of her services, and wishing her every prosperity in her “tfew home at Hastings. Mrs. L. J, Alder has filled the position rendered vacant.
The old School on the Ridge has been, closed for .some time and there seems no prospect of re-opening it. The money order office has also been closed although postal notes are sold as usual.
